Waterfalls on Cijevna are a magnificent jewel of nature
Only about 8 kilometers from Podgorica there is one of the main attractions of this region and a favorite place for the excursions of residents of the capital of Montenegro. Symbolically called "Niagara Falls", they are not like the original version, but with their unique and impressive appearance, they also attract tourists from all over the world, especially in recent years.
The only waterfalls that exist in Montenegro were built 150 years ago when they were necessary for the work of the water mill, so that, after many years, they become one of the most visited places in the vicinity of Podgorica.
Waterfalls are part of the magnificent Cijevna canyon. Due to narrow passages, large oysters and proximity of the plains on which the vineyard extends, the Cijevna canyon is one of the most beautiful in Montenegro.
Made of sharp rocks, the Cijevna canyon can be skipped in some parts, considering its width, although its depth reaches 10, and in some parts even 20 meters.
In spring, the water level is still high, and the waterfall that adorns this river shows its full beauty.
